It's been a while...

The great and bad thing about being busy is, well, being BUSY! But that also means I sometimes neglect this blog.

I'm still enjoying my job at the Bullseye and have been steadily increasing my speed and technique at cake decorating.

My friend's daughter is turning 4 this month and has asked me to make her a Snow White doll cake for her party in two weeks. We make a Barbie one like that at work and though I haven't made one myself yet, they seem to be pretty easy.

I bought myself the Wilton Wonder Mold to make the body of the dress with, just to save myself some time. I will have to make the cake on my own time after work, and with a rambunctious 2 year old always underfoot, as well as a crazy work schedule, that doesn't leave me with a LOT of time to practice my carving skills. Plus, I have OCD, and like to do practice runs of my cakes, if I can, just so that when I have to make them for real they will look awesome.

I'm hoping the cake turns out great for my friend's little one. She's a precious girl, and I hope that I can blow her little mind with her cake.

Also, I turned 31 last month. You would have thought I was a celebrity seeing as I celebrated it for two weeks and during those two weeks I took a trip to Vegas to see my Dad and best friends. My family and I had a GREAT time in Vegas, I wish we could have stayed for a month!

When we got back home my husband took me to this awesome place in Dallas called The Cupcakery.

They have 5 locations, 3 in Vegas and 2 in Dallas. I found that kind of cool and weird, since those are the two places where I've lived. They have $3 cupcakes and tiny little bottles of champagne as well as milk and juice. It was a really nice atmosphere and I plan to go back as soon as my schedule will allow. I only got to taste a few of their choices and I want to try them all!

My favorite was The Julius flavored one, just because I LURVE all things orange flavored (I type as I take a swig of an Orange Crush).

They also had one called a Grasshopper which tasted JUST like a Thin Mint. Delicious! My husband loves carrot cake and got The Bugsy. Also a great one.
